French Quarter Study
New Orleans, Louisiana
The French Quarter's wrought-iron balconies and layered architectural history make it one of the most photogenic neighborhoods in the country.
I was in New Orleans for a bachelor party, but made sure to bring my camera when we went exploring during the day. Despite the heat, it was a good day for walking – the narrow streets lined with Spanish colonial townhouses, Creole cottages, and Victorian shotgun homes, all of it draped in ferns and flowers spilling from those iconic balconies. Lots of great visual texture, and every block feels like a different era, somehow preserved and lived-in at the same time.
