A day trip bike ride from the Santa Monica Pier down to Venice – one of the best perks of living in West LA.
Most weekends when I could, I tried to get down to the Santa Monica beach to relax and clear my head. This time around I was working on finishing a roll of film, so I took the Expo line from Expo/Sepulveda near my apartment which drops right at the pier, walked through Pacific Palisades Park down to the beach, and rented a bike to cruise south along the strand. Stopped by the Venice skatepark and checked out the graffiti-covered Venice Art Walls nearby. Having such easy rail access to the beach made days like this really special when living in LA.
