MESSAGES

A man from the future crosses a desert wasteland to deliver a package. The second part of a January 2014 film test project to see how the K-3 holds up over a sustained shooting period, and to judge overall camera status and condition.

Right side of image shows numerous pin registration marks, massive light leaks and negative scratching from metal burrs on widened S16mm gate. Image vignettes at wide end of zoom and when lens is inadvertently not fully screwed into the mount. Camera viewfinder is not a 1:1 representation of final image — what looks centered in the viewfinder is open more to the right of the frame from the S16mm conversion and lens recentering.

Filmed on a Krasnogorsk K-3 S16mm film camera with Meteor 5-1 17-69mm zoom (M42) with Tiffen 85 filter, ND 0.9, and +2 close-focus diopter.

Filmed at
Seminole Canyon State Park
Amistad National Recreation Area
Pecos River High Bridge
Community of Langtry, TX
Painted Shelter
Eagle Nest Canyon
