Janey Lienau Field Work at Yale-Myers Forest

Yale School of the Environment

Janey Lienau is a PhD student at Yale School of the Environment studying soil food webs and how macro-invertebrates influence nitrogen cycling.

In these images, she and Mark Bradford, E.H. Harriman Professor of Soils and Ecosystem Ecology, are conducting field experiments at Yale-Myers Forest testing how belowground restoration and late successional soil fauna affect tree seedling growth, survival, and soil processes. Her work aims to better understand the role these hidden ecosystems play in forest regeneration and long-term ecosystem function.
